The RN17 Stereo Pair, created in collaboration with Rupert Neve Designs, incorporates the RN17’s unique large-scale hand-wound transformer, which adds ultra-high performance transparency and sensitivity to an already exceptional pair of handcrafted sE Electronics capsules. The RN17 Stereo Pair is a matched pair of pencil microphones that will bring your instrument and room recordings to life. They can easily handle percussive instruments like drums owing to their enormous sound pressure level threshold of 150dB before distortion occurs. The RN17 pair, which is a faithful portrayal of handmade SE Rupert Neve microphones of the finest quality, is tastefully housed in a professional travel bag with protective foam cushioning. The case has two specifically designed shock mounts, a stereo mounting bar, capsule containers for the optional additional polar-pattern capsules, and a warranty card with instructions. The two RN17 pencil microphones are housed in a hardwood display cabinet with satin dust covers to protect them from moisture and dust. The RN17, developed in collaboration between sE Electronics and Rupert Neve, is the first compact diaphragm microphone with its hand-wound high-performance transformer. The RN17, when combined with the world’s tiniest gold-sputtered Mylar capsule (17mm), produces a previously unseen depth of detail and clarity while also producing incredibly smooth highs.
