Altmärker Bush Bean Seeds
$ 3.17
A European bush bean that can be used as a fresh green bean (it’s a very light green) and also can be used as a dry bean. The dried seeds are half cherry red and half white, on a slightly oblong bean. Highly unusual seed markings. I can only guess that this bean originates in Altmark. The Altmark is a historic region in Germany, comprising the northern third of Saxony-Anhalt. As the initial territory of the March of Brandenburg, it is sometimes referred to as the “Cradle of Prussia”. Very rare. 2023 seed. Limited quantity, 20 seeds in a packet. Gratefully received from the wonderful collection of Artur Kobylecki, Kielce, Poland.
